Today was market day.  Our first stop was at a shop where a man was making ouds.  If it looks like a lute, feels like a lute and sounds like a lute, it must me a lute.  I would have guessed an oud and a lute are one and the same.  However, when I looked it up in Wikipedia, I found that the difference is an oud has no frets and a smaller neck.  Who was to know?

After the oud maker, we strolled through the market.  We made a couple of stops at quilters.  These men were amazingly fast with the needle.
Notice the different color scraps of material that he applies to his piece
This gives a better idea of what the piece will look like when it is finished

The other stop we made was at a fez maker.  Maybe I should say "the" fez maker as I think he is the last one.  Apparently the market for fez isn't too great.

Its hard to capture the feel of the market in pictures.  The sounds, the smells, the hustle and bustle.  Below are a few pictures and there are many more in the gallery.
